Easily start/stop Compiz-Fusion

February 1st, 2008 | No comments yet...what do you think?

Anyone else miss that handy tray applet that Beryl used to have? I mainly used it to turn desktop effects off if I have was having video issues, or if I wanted a bit of a speed boost. Ubuntu tips site Tombuntu highlights an app called Compiz-Switch which has the same functionality. Just install, start, and it sits in your systray, awaiting your command.

Naturally the packages that Tombuntu links to are built for Ubuntu, but this shouldn’t be too difficult to install anywhere.
