Make Widgets in Web Forms/Gmail Look Nice In Firefox

October 22nd, 2007 | No comments yet...what do you think?

Let’s face it…web form buttons and widgets look ugly in Firefox. Here’s how to fix the buggers:

Check out this link to an Ubuntu Forums post the Firefox Widgets Script.

Download the latest package, listed at the bottom of the post. You’ll need an Ubuntu Forums account to download.

Extract the package (in Ubuntu, right click -> extract here)

Open the folder, and click on “graphic_installer.” Click “Run” if a dialog appears asking you what to do.

On my system, a prompt appeared stating that the packaged “python-kiwi” was required and asked to install it. I granted permission.

Then just press the forward button on the GUI installation tool, and you’re all set!

Restart Firefox, and you’ve got beautiful widgets. No why doesn’t Firefox do this by default?
