Use Your Clean Desktop to Visually Lay Out Documents
Posted on September 27th, 2007 by nathan
I like to to keep a pretty clean desktop on my main workstation…I don’t keep any icons there unless they’re automatically generated by GNOME for removable devices. Yesterday while working on the order of some Christmas music for my church, I realized I had enough room to arrange and rearrange my documents on the desktop into an order that suited me and my collaborators. This works really well if you’re a visual organizer.
The only problem I had was that long file names sometimes overlapped when I grouped files close together. Still, I found this method very useful for brainstorming the order of presentation. How do you organize your documents in an eye-catching way?
