Using Leafpad as a Lightweight Alternative Text Editor
Posted on September 22nd, 2007 by nathan

This post from Ubuntu Unleashed on using Mousepad as a lightweight alternative to Gedit or Kate got me thinking about my favorite lightweight gui text editor: Leafpad.
Now of course, this thing is no-frills, bare-basics only. But it’s also sleek, visually appealing, supports line numbers, text search, drag and drop, and it has unlimited undo/redo. It takes up significantly less resources than some of the more “mainstream ” editors, and it’s great for my everyday text editing needs (of course, I’m no programmer).
What’s your favorite gui text editor? Let us know in the comments.
