Why I Don’t Use Epiphany

August 7th, 2007 | No comments yet...what do you think?

I’ve been giving an honest effort to give Epiphany a full-time go as my browser. Despite a great bookmarking interface and tight integration with GNOME, it’s just not working out. Why? Well, there are just a few too many deal-breaking weaknesses.

1) Less than perfect Greasemonkey support. Gmail Macros doesn’t work. This sucks for me.

2) Limited printing options. There’s no way to print selected text only. This is a must-have for printing from the web!

3) Included extensions can be hard to configure. There’s no easy way to customize the mouse gestures extension. I find the defaults just too annoying to adapt too.

What browser do you use, and if you use Epiphany, how do you cope with/overcome its shortcomings?
