Manage Your Clipboard with Glipper

June 16th, 2007 | No comments yet...what do you think?

GNOME app Glipper allows you to manage your clipboard entries fairly easily. It took a few seconds for me to figure out the correct mouse buttons to use to select entries from the clipboard, but once I did Glipper became an important tool. It allows you to a keep configurable history of all the items you’ve highlighted or copied to the clipboard, so if you have specific bit of text you copy and paste frequently, you can simply as select the text from the notification area icon and paste it wherever you want. This little app would also come in handy if you need to copy from multiple sources before pasting.

Glipper integrates well with GNOME desktop, but can be used with any window manager with a system tray, which means it would work well even in minimal environments such as Fluxbox.

Glipper’s SourceForge page is located at http://glipper.sourceforge.net/docs.shtml

Glipper can be easily installed in Ubuntu by issuing

sudo apt-get install glipper

or by searching for “Glipper” in the Add/Remove… dialog.
